John Rafman – Dream House of an Artist

Immersive virtual exhibition space

Client: Jon RafmanYear: 2022

Introduction

Canadian artist Jon Rafman commissioned YEAJH to design and build a navigable 3D interior — Dream House of an Artist — a virtual exhibition house that brings his paintings into an immersive architectural experience.

Challenge

Translate a body of fine art into a spatial, multi-platform environment that feels intimate and gallery-ready across VR headsets, desktop, and mobile — without flattening the artist's visual language.

Solution

We modeled a detailed dream-house interior inspired by Rafman's aesthetic, placing artwork across walls, floors, and furniture. Lighting, sound, and sensory cues create a cinematic walkthrough that visitors can explore freely.

Process

  1. 01Art direction & spatial concept aligned to the artist's portfolio
  2. 02High-fidelity 3D interior modeling and material design
  3. 03Artwork placement, lighting design, and atmosphere passes
  4. 04Interactive navigation optimized for VR, desktop, and mobile

Results

  • A multi-platform virtual exhibition ready for headset and web
  • Immersive storytelling that extends the artist's practice into 3D space
  • A signature case study in art × technology collaboration
